Christopher Rice

- performer - teacher - choreographer -

_____

Chris grew up in Edmond, Oklahoma with his parents and 3 siblings. His interest in the arts was noticed early on and he began taking dance classes at the age of 3. Over the next few years, Christopher joined his church choir and began taking acting lessons at a local children’s theatre. His passion for performing has opened many doors for him, both locally and professionally. In high school, he trained with Christopher and Cynthia Harrod at the Lyric Theatre Academy in Oklahoma City and performed professionally with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma, Mac-Haydn Theatre in New York, and more. He has performed in over 50 live productions.

The summer after his senior year in high school, Christopher started a Summer Musical Theatre program designed for teenagers to further their growth in the performing arts. He worked with dozens of Jr. High and High School students from all over the state, directing and choreographing full-length productions in just two weeks time- a challenge Christopher faced with delight and determination.

He currently is a dance instructor at the Sooner Theatre Studio in Norman, Ok where he teaches a variety of dance classes with students of all ages. His choreography can be seen all over Oklahoma in theatrical productions, high school musicals, show choirs, talent programs, dance shows and more.

Favorite performances include: The Who's Tommy (performing Tommy alongside Julia Murney), Hairspray (Link), A Chorus Line (Mark), Godspell (Jesus), You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown (Snoopy), and many more.

Christopher is a proud Musical Theatre major in The University of Oklahoma’s Wietzenhoffer School of Musical Theatre.
